This home uses a septic system.
Please help keep it working properly. These rules are simple, but they prevent expensive and unpleasant problems.
Simple septic rules for your stay
- 1Toilet paper only. Please do not flush wipes, paper towels, tissues, hygiene products, diapers, floss, cotton swabs, or trash.
- 2No flushable wipes. Even wipes labeled flushable can clog septic systems.
- 3Keep grease out of the sink. Grease, oils, coffee grounds, and food scraps belong in the trash.
- 4Skip harsh drain chemicals. If a drain is slow or smells strange, please tell the host instead.
- 5Go easy on laundry. If possible, spread loads out instead of running everything at once.
- 6Protect the yard. Please keep cars, tents, and heavy items off marked drain-field areas.
- 7Report warning signs early. Tell the host if toilets bubble, drains slow down, alarms sound, or you notice sewage smell.

Grease, oils, coffee grounds, and food scraps should not go down the sink.
Problems
Slow drains, bubbling, alarms, or sewage smell should be reported right away.
Why it matters
A septic system treats wastewater on the property. It works best when only normal wastewater and toilet paper enter the system. Small guest habits can prevent messy service calls.
